Going Paperless - Activity #1

Sight Singing

Sight Singing

In chorus, we practice daily sight singing.  In the past I had copied a musical example (enough copies for each student) and handed it out at the beginning of class for the students to practice and then sing as a class.

With the paperless tools learned in class, I will now take those same examples, scan them using the printer/copiers and send the scan (pdf file) to my email.  I will then use that pdf file and show it daily on the smartboard instead of making mass copies.

Since these daily lessons involve singing instead of writing down any answers, it will already be paperless in the completion of the activity.

For 7th grade general music, I have begun to create everything in SmartNotebook, making everything interactive on the SmartBoard itself.  For all "written" activities, I have created Google Docs, which the students will complete on the computer as a new Google Doc and share with me.

This is a great idea! I agree that copying all that paper is a "job" in itself! Good luck with this:)

Excellent idea! This will save a great deal of paper since you will no longer need to print the music for each student. Good job moving to a more paperless approach!!
