I particularly worked on a lesson that we do in October for "shared reading" when we cover mysteries. One of the expectations is for students to know the vocabulary associated with mysteries. In the past, we have copied the vocabulary pages for each student and used them as anchor charts for their reading journals. By using the ScanSnap we can simply "share" the vocabulary sheet with the students and go over the terms together. Then we can capture a picture of that sheet and turn it into a poster that can can be posted in the room for additional reference. This can be used during interactive, shared, and guided reading discussions. After the unit is over, to check for understanding, students can go to the Mystery Vocabulary crossword puzzle quiz located on Moodle that I created using the Hot Potatoes software.

Tomeka,

I like your idea to use the ScanSnap to show the vocabulary words.  What a great idea to use a Hot Potatoes crossword to review.  The students will have a great chance to review the words and will enjoy completing it on the Moodle.  They might even enjoy making a crossword puzzle using the Hot Potatoes software.
