If we didn't have Twitter, it's not like our lives would suddenly shutdown. However, Twitter has made our lives in the 21st century a lot more convenient. For example, if you are are looking for advice on how to make your classroom centers easier for student access, then reading what your followers have posted, just 5 seconds ago, will be very helpful. You can use or not use any of the advice that is streaming through your feed. If you connect with people who are in your same field, you can share ideas. Twitter allows a 2nd grade teacher in Pennsylvania to take the resources of a 2nd grade teacher in Florida who shared "how to make the best word wall" and to use it in their own classroom. Twitter does have a lot of fluff, but once you get past the fluff you will be very happy to have started using Twitter in your PLN.
