  Integration Ideas
  Please share your integration ideas on the forum below.

  • Use  videos at the beginning of a lesson to pique students' interest in a new topic. Video can be a "hook"to a lesson, drawing students in and giving them a common experience before starting the lesson.
    
  • Provide the information needed for students to gain the knowledge or skill by integrating video clips into lecture-style presentations.
    
  • Demonstrate and/or model a multimedia project, incorporating video clips. Students then apply this new knowledge in their independent practice. Example: Create a virtual Civil War Recipe Card using PowerPoint to embed video clips, graphics, timelines, and maps pertaining to one "ingredient" that led to the Civil War.
    
  • Use video as a tool to evaluate student understanding by having the students watch a video clip and review or ask questions of what was learned. Example: A teacher might have students answer questions or journal about a video clip on the Lever, Wheel, Axle, or Pulley to explain how these simple machines work. The teacher might collect the answers or ask additional questions.
    
  • Use a video to summarize what has been taught during a class period or unit. Example: A teacher has just taught a lesson on Electricityand Magnetism. The teacher might say, "Great job for today, class. Now, in closing,I would like to show you a short video on Electricity and Magnetism to summarize whatwe have learned. While watching the clip, have paper and a pencil ready to write down one thing you learned today, and turn it in to me on your way out."
    
  • Students can practice what was taught while teaching other students. Students can create their own multimedia project using Movie Maker.
