Social Networking
What is Social Networking? The use of a website to connect with people who share personal or professional interests, place of origin, education at a particular school, etc. ~ source from Dictionary.com
An example of this would be a blog. A blog is website on a particular topic in which subscribers to that blog can post feedback and have discussions based on the blog topic. Blogs usually contain an RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feed which means that once connected to that feed you are able to receive all the latest updates that are posted on that blog.
If you see this icon on a website or blog then this means that an RSS feed is available. There are many available applications to use to read all your RSS feeds from one spot rather than going to each site one by one. Those applications include Google Reader, Feedly (iPhone App, iPad App), Outlook, etc. You can even add an RSS Feed block on your Moodle page.
