Directions: Reading a Myth and How-To Podcast
Completion requirements
Since the chapter "Brief Myths Arranged Alphabetically" contains very short accounts of many myths, this is an excellent opportunity to practice oral reading. Choose a story, and email me your choice. Story selection will be first-come, first-served.
After your story selection is approved, practice reading your story aloud several times before recording your selection on Audacity. Follow these directions:
Creating a Podcast Using Audacity
1. Begin by selecting the START button and selecting All Programs.
2. From the selections choose Audacity (select Audacity 1.3 Beta)
3. Audacity screen appears
4. On the third menu bar, you will see a picture of a microphone. Select the pull down menu next to the picure of the microphone and change selection to "IDT Audio External Mic."
5. Select the red button on the toolbar to begin
6. Begin recording.
7. Select the Yellow Square button to stop the podcast.
8. To Save:
9. Select File from the Menu
10. Scroll down and select Export
11. Save as: Your Last name and title of your myth (example: Smith Clytie)
12. Save as type: MP3
13. Select Save
14. Save in: My Music Folder
NOTE: You may have to practice with the volume.
