Technology Takes the Bite Out of Grammar!

http://edupln.ning.com/profiles/blogs/technology-takes-the-bite-out-of-grammar

According to this post on The Educator's PLN, technology does not have to hinder the teaching of language, especially grammar, to our students.  In fact, rather than restrict or hinder the teaching of grammar, texting and Twitter can reinforce grammar skills since they require that students use written language.  This site not only encourages instructors to have students create original text to practice their grammar knowledge but also lists popular sites that help attain mastery of grammatical concepts.  SPM

Ipad: Essential Apps

Essential Ipad Apps

This article provides a list of some great Ipad apps for teachers with their own Ipad. Most of this article is focused on teacher organization tools, but there are links to other articles that have apps that are more student directed. The one that I would like to try on this list is Stick Pick, which is an app where you can put in all the student's names and it randomly picks names for activities (like virtual popsicle sticks).

Ipads in Primary Classroom

Ipads in Primary Classroom

This article focuses on case studies that have used Ipads as a motivational tool and resource for students doing different projects. What is great about it, is that it is really recent, and seems to be updated frequently with new ideas and studies about using the Ipad in a classroom setting. There are also many links to other articles focused on Ipads in primary classrooms. I think that this would be helpful to teachers with a set of Ipads in their room.
