Personal learning networks: Advice from the trenches

http://smartblogs.com/education/2013/05/23/personal-learning-networks-advice-from-the-trenches/

A panel of connected educators share advice on how to develop a strong PLN.  All recommend that "completing the bio portion of one’s Twitter profile is important and will help gain meaningful connections."  Participating in chats "such as #edchat, or any of the weekly Twitter chats, can help educators get connected in areas relevant to them."  RMM

PLN Starter Kit

http://www.librarygirl.net/2012/07/pln-starter-kit.html

I like this article because it has a link to a LiveBinders page, PLN Starter Kit.  The article talks about a PLN being personal, and unique to the individual who creates it.  The PLN you create for your own use will not be like the PLN of another teacher.  There is no right or wrong way to create your PLN.

PLC's have a down side in that we need to incorporate processes for learning and studying to help students reach these standards.
