DAIS Summer Reading Challenge

Hi everyone!  I just read the most amazing Realistic Fiction book.  It's called "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio.  This book is about a fifth grade boy, who was born with a severe facial deformity.  August has been home schooled all his life, but in fifth grade his parents decide he should try to adapt to a normal school setting.  The transition is difficult, mostly because people cannot get used to the way he looks.  The result is a lot of teasing, bullying, and the test of true friendship.
