Sample Chat
The difference between a chat and a forum is that one is live and one is not. (synchronous verses asychronous)
Use the chat with caution - it is LIVE and the student are actively typing to each other - though, everyone in the room can see what is typed.
Take a few minutes to "chat" about what you know about wikis or blogs.
