    Library Research Class

    This class will empower students to be lifelong learners, informed decision makers, users of all types of information and enthusiastic readers. Through exploration and practice, students will learn how to use the many technologies available to them to create high-quality projects.

    This schedule may be adjusted due to schedule changes throughout the year.
    You should always bring something to read or work on when you have Library Research class. Sometimes, we will give you a Library Workshop and you will have time to work on homework, reading, etc.

    Destiny - Database Searching

    In this lesson, you will learn how to:

    *find great books that are in our library.
    *find great magazine articles,pictures and other resources using Power Library databases.

    Online Resources

    There are SO many different resources you can use when looking for information online. Using the Internet can be risky, because there are over 3 trillion website and many are unreliable.

    Using a database can be a good solution to this problem. We have access to the following databases and you should use them first when you need accurate information fast!

    Try each of these databases for reliable information!

    Online encyclopedia - very reliable!  worldbookonline.com 

    Go through the library website to access this database from school. Try SIRS DIscoverer for an easy to use general database.

    Need Public library card number if using from home. Databases with access to 1,000's of magazine and encyclopedia articles.   Click here for video!
