This course will study the history of Europe through the development of the Roman Empire to the beginnings of the Early Modern Period. Topics include the legacy of Rome, the rise of Christianity, the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Reformation, and the birth of the modern nation-state. Analytical skills and higher order thinking will be required.
