English 105, a level 4 course (the highest level available to ninth graders), is expressly designed for students identified as gifted in language or for students with exceptional or advanced language skills .

Areas of study include classic literature, grammar, vocabulary, writing skills, and library/research skills. Students entering this course should have an extensive and successful background in the study of English. Although this class shares a basic curriculum with that of other ninth grade English classes, it is designed to include numerous enrichment activities and additional assignments intended to challenge the gifted student. Therefore, students taking part in this class should expect to be challenged at all times. In addition, this advance course requires tremendous responsibility and accountability on each student’s part.
