Completion requirements
alien - a person who is not a citizen of the country he or she is living in; an unnaturalized foreign resident of a country
allegiance - loyalty to a government, country, or ruler
application - a written form used in making such a request
anarchist - any person who promotes disorder or stirs up revolt
anarchy - political disorder and confusion; absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose
anti-Semitism - hatred and persecution of Jews
assimilate - to be absorbed into the main culture group
citizenship - the status of being a citizen, including its rights, duties, and privileges
contagious- spread by direct or indirect contact
deport - to expel from a country
deportation - expulsion from a country
detainment - to keep from proceeding; delay or hold back
disembark - to go ashore from a ship or airplane
emigrate - to leave one country or region to settle in another
emigrants - person who leaves his place or country to live in another country
ethnic - sharing the same language and culture
exclude - to prevent from entering; keep out; bar
famine - a drastic, wide-reaching food shortage
genealogy - a record or table of the descent of a person, family, or group from an ancestor or ancestors; a family tree
immigrate - to enter and settle in a country or region to which one is not native
immigrant - a person who enters a new country to live in another
laborers - persons who do manual work for a living, like picking crops, making items, etc.
literacy - the ability to read and write
native - a person who was born in a particular place or country; an original inhabitant of a region or country
passage - the right, permission, or freedom to pass, go, or travel; a journey or voyage, especially by sea or air
permit - a written order or license granting permission to perform some action
prejudice - hatred or intolerance of a particular group, such as members of a particular race or religion
steerage - the portion of a passenger ship occupied by those passengers paying the cheapest fare
undesirables - persons thought to be undesirable; objectionable
