Speaking and Listening Center Instructions
Completion requirements
Until now, we have used voicethreads to listen to a prompt in Spanish while viewing a photo or picture, and have recorded our answers on that web-based application. I've noticed that students would appreciate more control of the screen and the start-up and control of the action. Therefore, I'm making an improvement in our activities. We'll be working better and more effectively because of these changes.
1. Open, and choose to run (you will click 'run' twice) the recorder of your choice, from the links provided.
a. If you choose the MS Recorder, you begin recording by clicking the red ball, after recording each answer, you must click on the black box, which acts as a pause button. When you have finished ALL recordings, click SAVE from the file menu, save the file with your name and the assignment name combined, in your storage, on the desktop, or on your flashdrive.
b. If you choose the Audacity Recorder, you begin recording by clicking the red ball. After answering each question, click the PAUSE button, not the stop button. After completing ALL recordings, go to the file menu and choose to export the file as a WAV or MP3 or other common supported file. Save it to the desktop, to your storage, or to your flashdrive under your name combined with the assignment name.
2. After step 1, click on the upload assignment link for the proper assignment. A browse box will appear. Find your file and choose it. Click upload. It's that simple!
Notice:
1. You will advance through the media show exactly as you would a PowerPoint©. Click on the speaker to hear the prompt. You may hear it more than once.
2. This means that you are clicking on three links to complete this assignment: the recorder, the media show, and the upload file link.
