DAIS Summer Reading Challenge

Hey Gang! Let's get the discussion going! If you like fantasy, here's one with a modern twist. "You Will Call Me Drog," by Sue Cowing, is the story of Parker. A typical 6th grader who likes to go dumpster diving with his best friend. One day, while digging through the trash, he finds a very ugly, dirty puppet. Despite his friend's advice to leave the puppet behind, Parker takes it home, and puts it on. Suddenly, the puppet grabs hold of Parker's wrist, and won't let go! The ugly puppet looks at Parker and says, "you will call me Drog." Drog has a mind of his own, is very opinionated, and will not let go! This is also the story of a boy facing his own fears, and getting comfortable in his own skin. Enjoy, and keep reading!
