Assignment: Comparing three immigrant groups
Completion requirements
You have learned a little about the Irish, and will have the opportunity to learn about the Chinese and Scandinavian immigrants as well. These groups had some things in common, despite coming from very different parts of the world. They also had some very different experiences in America, as some faced discrimination while others were better able to assimilate.
For your assignment you will be completing a chart that will help you organize your learning about these three immigrant groups. You will be asked to think about push and pull factors, how each group was treated, and their treatment in the US.
An example of the chart can be downloaded, but you are free to make your own chart as long as it contains the same essential information. This assignment is not due until after you have learned about all three immigrant groups, but you should complete each section of the chart as you move through each module.
To complete the assignment, please do the following after you have downloaded the Comparison Chart Assignment sheet (or made your own):
1) Type your thoughts and save your document as (last name)Comparison Chart in Microsoft Word or Excel. For example, Lawrence(Comparison Chart). Make sure to edit it, etc.
2) Below, click on browse.
3) Find your file and open it
4) Your file should appear in the little box.
5) Click on Upload this file to send it
This assignment is worth 20 points. When you are done you may move on to the next module. Remember that this should not be be turned in until you have learned about all three immigrant groups.
